The historic Museum Quarter Carolus building in Valkenswaard is home to a number of cultural institutions, including a Guild Room, the Dutch Lithography Museum and the Falconry and Cigar Museum.
The Falconry Museum paints a picture of the falconry sport as practiced between 1650 and 1850 by kings and high nobility, who entertained guests with this ‘Game of Feathers’. The Cigar Museum tells the fascinating tale of the cigar industry in Valkenswaard from 1865 until its eventual decline. The Dutch Lithography Museum tells the story of the art of lithography or ‘stone printing’. The museum features beautiful examples of lithographic art by artists such as Kees van Dongen, Alphonse Mucha, Adolphe Willette and Jan Sluyters.
