For centuries, three watermills stood by the castle of the lords of Herlaer.

Get in and drift with the current. Simply enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Take a kick scooter, quadricycle train or streetstepper back to the starting point.

In the 19th century, the Schimmelse or Woenselse Watermolen was the largest watermill in the area. Corn was ground, oil was pressed, and wool processed in this mill.

Built in the 14th century, it was once a corn mill. The farmers from the surrounding area were forced to have to harvests ground here.

In most places, it is forbidden to go into nature with a dirt bike. Cranendonck has a place where you can cross-country ski for a fee.

Get to know smuggling in the border region at the museum. The region, situated on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium and bordering on Limburg, is known for its many smuggling practices in former times.

A special place on the edge of nature reserve De Malpie, where you will be hospitably welcomed. Sit down and enjoy fresh coffee, artisanal farmhouse ice cream or other goodies, while the children enjoy themselves in and around the Hoeve.

Try the unique funnel slide in Aqua Mundo and play pirate at the stranded ship in the indoor playworld Discovery Bay. Have you ever been on water skis or a flyboard? Or why not zigzag across the lake on the Zip Wire?

A stones throw from Valkenswaard lies nature reserve De Malpie. The unparalleled beauty of this area led to Valkenswaard being voted “Hiking Municipality of the Year” in 2016.

How to process fresh produce from an organic market garden? If anyone knows, it is Wilma! She bakes all her cakes and pastry herself. And each slice is served with a carefully selected cup of coffee or tea. Of course she also grows her own mint leaves

Villa Cranendonck, the little white castle, was built in the early 20th century. It was privately owned for quite some time until the municipality became owner or the Cranendonck estate in 1938.

In 1960, a new customs office for both Belgium and the Netherlands was built at the Dutch border.

From the 16th century, Boxtelsche Watermolen was used as a saw, bark, fulling and grain mill.
