One of the most gorgeous spots in Hamont-Achel is a secret that we only tell children. Behind the Domein De Bever area entrance lies the valley of the Warmbeek. Its nature is very beautiful, but it is above all a place for just running and playing.

Janzona means 'son of Janssen'. This is an octagonal mountain corn mill. It was moved from Venlo to Budel-Schoot in 1937. After a thorough restoration in 1980, the mill is now completely millable again.

Along the river Dommel, nature is at its best! Between Neerpelt in Belgium and Valkenswaard in the Netherlands, you can paddle down the Dommel by canoe or kayak. You will then pass no less than two beautiful nature reserves.

It is used to flood the Bossche Broek at high tide.

The Venberg watermill is located south of Valkenswaard on the Dommel river. This mill, which used to have three functions under one roof (oil mill, bark mill and grain mill), is one of the oldest mills in history.

Franciscushof consists of a petting zoo, ice cream parlour and bed & breakfast. It is also possible to take a pony ride from this spot in the Catharinadal. This pristine part of Belgian Limburg has a lot to offer!

Two collections show the industrial history of Valkenswaard: falconry from 1650 to 1850, a period when kings and high nobility entertained their guests with the "game of feather", and cigar making from 1865 until its decline.

In the 19th century, the Schimmelse or Woenselse Watermolen was the largest watermill in the area. Corn was ground, oil was pressed, and wool processed in this mill.

This was originally a grain mill, but Dewerd was converted into a fulling mill in the 17th century.
