Inside, the pool has a twenty-five-metre competition pool and an instruction pool. In summer, you can go outside in the two leisure pools, which are surrounded by a sunbathing lawn with play equipment.

Dive into the past and hike along the reconstruction of ‘Den droad’ (the wire). This so-called Death Wire was a 332 kilometre long wire fence constructed by the Germans during the First World War, spanning the border between Belgium and the Netherlands.

A special place on the edge of nature reserve De Malpie, where you will be hospitably welcomed. Sit down and enjoy fresh coffee, artisanal farmhouse ice cream or other goodies, while the children enjoy themselves in and around the Hoeve.

This could be the oldest watermill in the Benelux. In 1756, the mill house was replaced by the stone building that is still standing today.

Valkenswaard now has a new little miscreant! A mischievously delicious restaurant for a budget-friendly lunch and/or dinner. They serve mostly spicy grilled dishes. Their spare-ribs – prepared according to an authentic Cuban recipe – are truly divine!

A stones throw from Valkenswaard lies nature reserve De Malpie. The unparalleled beauty of this area led to Valkenswaard being voted “Hiking Municipality of the Year” in 2016.

Boundaries blur in Hageven-De Plateaux, a Dutch-Belgian nature reserve. A walk here leads through woods and heathland and past fens and ingenious water meadows, a water system from the early nineteenth century.

Throughout the centuries, the mill has been rebuilt and restored on numerous occasions. It has also had various functions, such as an oil mill and a fulling mill.

Sportsmen and adventurers, beware! You will experience excitement at high altitude. You will complete, metres above the ground, a large climbing course while being encouraged from below.

Boundaries are blurring in the Belgian-Dutch nature reserve of Hageven-De Plateaux. Start your visit at the visitors centre so you know what special plants and animals to look out for along the way.

"A shared meal is oil for the gears of friendship." A fine family restaurant with a large outdoor seating area and playground, located next to the Philips de Jong walking park.

A café where the patrons are laid-back and the outdoor seating is spacious. The offering is superb, including a beer menu with 120 speciality beers.

Get your delicious artisanal ice cream here! A cosy little ice cream parlour right in the centre of Valkenswaard.

The Aalsterhut, better known as “De Hut van Mie Pils” (Mie Pils’ cabin) or simply Mie Pils, is the perfect stopover for hikers, cyclists, sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. This tavern is located at a junction of hiking and cycling routes in the middle

This “backyard” of Eindhoven is an excellent starting point for a visit to De Groote Heide. And when combined with a visit to the prehistoric village (preHistorisch Dorp) you are guaranteed to have a diverse and green day out!

The Wolfswinkel mill was a corn and oil mill. A fulling mill was added around 1606.

In the centre of Heeze, you will find the special establishment "Eventjes Eten". All day long, you can choose from unusual sandwiches, poké bowls, homemade salads or wok dishes with potatoes, pasta, noodles or rice.

Smugglers often used streams to smuggle goods across the border.

The Meulendijks Riding Stables is located on the edge of the Strabrechtse Heide, with not only cycling and hiking routes, but also bridle paths and carriage routes. A wonderful base for a day of horseback riding!

The Dommel, the Drongelens Canal and the Stadssingel (city canal) converge under the Vughterbrug.
