If you are planning a visit to the beautiful, border-crossing nature reserve of Hageven-De Plateaux, a good place to start is the Hageven/De Wulp Visitors Centre. Have a look inside first, so you are more aware of what to look for out there.

Along the river Dommel, nature is at its best! Between Neerpelt in Belgium and Valkenswaard in the Netherlands, you can paddle down the Dommel by canoe or kayak. You will then pass no less than two beautiful nature reserves.

For lovers of beer and walks, there are several trappist routes through the green land of Achel and the urban area of Hamont, including one that is wheelchair accessible. Of course, the route leads you past many excellent places to sample a local pint.
